Reality Check

Looked in the mirror lately

what do you see?

I’d like to look back

at a former me

so much has changed

from dark to gray

lines in odd places

they’re sadly here to stay

some things work too well

what’s that pain about?

If  I could reverse time

before my knees  give out

one thing that’s a constant

the state of my heart

always loving and caring

after all that’s my art

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing with an E. African team that is developing elementary curriculum for African children. As a writer, it is a thrill to help children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 10 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - thanks for stopping by.

  1. Our lives and emotions get a lot of dark lines drawn over and within them, lines that won’t go away.

I think we must just keep turning to God, surrendering our own rights and intents, and letting him shape us into who he wants us to become.

May he pleased with the “us” he is fashioning us to become, and may we be pleased that the God, Creator of the Universe, is pleased to dwell in us.

  2. Maybe grey on the outside, but surely full of the sweetest reds inside as your words are sweet and purposeful. And anyway, grey can be beautiful for sure

  3. knees and elbows… I want them both back in original condition – a few less lines, a few less lbs, but yes hope the heart is a whole lot bigger than it was – I truly hope so
