The Power of the Poet

Sometimes you just get lucky and strike gold on the first try. That’s what I feel has happened with One Stop Poetry.

After meeting and reading so many wonderful poets( on-line), Brian Miller, Pete Marshall , Adam Dustus, and myself decided to create a community for poets and writers. I know how much the inspiration means to me and we hope others will be inspired to create with words.

Join us any day of the week for poetic inspiration.  Please post and link your own works on Wednesday 12:00 am UK time for One Shot Wednesday.

What’s in the works:

Awards for the Poet of the Month

Expression Page for Youth

Poet’s Forum

Help us dream about One Stop Poetry

The Power of the Poet

With a voice you speak

like a flag unfurled

you speak with a word

that can change the world

Using words

express them away

it is possible

to change the world in a day

Bring light to the world

some promise thrown in

reality to ponder

powerful words from within

Poets give from their hearts

a vision they see

might just change

you and me

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

  1. Beautiful Leslie, brings together a fantastic space for the creative writers! Love your poem as well. =)) I’ve been out of sorts lately but hopefully to get with it and enjoy some time to be a part thanks to YOU!

  2. Adam Dustus

Nice loved the way you expressed yourself…

Came to wish you a Happy Belated Birthday, you are on Jingles mind and heart, as you know she sent out a message to us all.

Glad I stopped by for the reminder for Wednesday, I sent a msg to Brian last week that I thought I would join in the fun,

If Only ” it is possible …to change the world in a day”

“Image…..all the people….” your poem reminded me of the John Lennon’s song..even though the words are different the message appears the same.
