Song of the Heart

How long had it been

since he first heard her voice?

listened for its sweetness

had no other choice

the very first time

up in the trees

carried her to him

in a soft gentle  breeze

Again he  heard her

surf carried  this  piece

strong and vivacious

she sang with the sea

hearing the oldies

loved her by then

musical harmony

sounds close to him

Lastly he heard her

each day at the start

she had woven her song

in the chords of his heart

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

  1. The last line of the poem is very beautiful…it is what we all hope for in our relationships to have our song woven into someone’s heart…So enjoyed the romance in this one.

  2. Awwwh, this is so sweet. What a lovely love-story-poem, and such beautiful and appropriate photos to accompany… I love it. It has a music of its own. I want to go and get my old guitar, see if I remember how to play and then put this to sweet, happy chords.

  3. This is beautifully blended, I think this one of yours might be my favorite…..that’s tough, I enjoy all the writing I get to read of yours….however, apparently born and bred into me, a love and strong connection with nature and its intriguing elements….I find this poem so wonderful!!!! I love the photo too!!! 🙂 *hugs*April
