The Power of the Moon #poetry

Gaze down on me

beautiful one

possessing ethereal qualities

so unlike the sun

Sing, Dance and Play

long into the night

at morning’s edge

skip away from  light

Lovers blend

and caress too

captives held by

the glow of you

There is a mystery

you won’t show

they will never know

You pull together

for a moonlit dip

those in your orbit

joined in

your luminescent grip

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

  1. Growing up on the east coast, I loved the way the moon would rise over water (In the fall, I was often at surf-side fishing). Then living in the desert, I came to love the new moon, a crescent hanging over the western mountains. I like your poem. Thanks for bring back memories.

  2. Bu the time I’ve filled out the ‘application’ I’ve forgotten the comment I had planned–grin!

Hey, Ms Moon, when you write about your relative (moon) your calmness infiltrates the soul who reads.

And who of us has not experienced the effect of the moon, and how it affects the beautiful love between we two? That special lunar ‘pulling’ together, one toward the other–none can resist, nor I.

    PEACE, my friend!

    1. Ha – hope all is well. I agree maybe it’s just the fact she sets a great back round or maybe she really does have something to do with the moon mood. Best for your tomorrows
