Star Chased Memories Guest Post by Steve Thompson #oneshotwednesday @dreamersteve_99

It is a privilege to have my friend Steve Thompson aka @dreamersteve_99 ( Twitter) on my blog for One Shot Wednesday. “Life is my inspiration.I am a newbie in poetland.Lover of my fellow poets on a journey with dreamers of like ambition humbled by others.”

Hopefully Steve will have a blog where you can read his wonderful poetry soon.

Star chased Memories

by Steve Thompson

Her heart was shaped in a mysterious way,

Every inch a woman,

Yet with a strength uncommon,

Tears were her weapons

She knew time as though it was her brother,

And she spent it on life sparingly,

A little here a little there,

Until men fell at her feet

Every step she took was clothed in fashion,

From head to toe,

Immersed in wonder,

A sacred woman of the night!

She could get inside your skin,

And stretch your insides out,

Sending you home on your knees,

Crying for more

Indeed a memory I will chase forever

For her scent remains,

And my heart and body,

Still left in chains.

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing with an E. African team that is developing elementary curriculum for African children. As a writer, it is a thrill to help children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 10 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - thanks for stopping by.

  1. You’re such a kind one, Moonie, providing your own blog space to fellow friendly poets that don’t yet have the outlet! Be sure to link me when your friend gets a blog – I would certainly like to read more, and it would be a pleasure to see him around on One Shots.

  2. Leslie, I think it’s awesome you are sharing Steve with us this evening! His work often moves me, and I have been enjoying it so very much! STEVE…you must get the blog up and running. There are so many who would be inspired by your words, as I am on an almost daily basis. You were born with a poet’s heart, and in today’s world, that so desperately needs to be shared. So nice to see you really get into the body of the piece, soulful, hearfelt, and yes…proof that you are beyond worth sharing!

  3. nicely done steve…i love that her scent lingers…we all leave little things behind but that seems most fitting for such a woman…smiles.

  4. Really captured that hold a crush on someone has on you long after the time when you move in the same spheres. Excellent piece. Thanks, Gay

  5. Ahhh, the electric magnetic pull between men and women. Undeniable. Stronger than most anything.

    What an amazing poem.

So great to meet your friend, Moon.

And yes — I just LOVE the world of blogging poets here on the web — more fun, wild and amazing than I ever could’ve hoped for when I was hungry for poems before I found you all.
