The Lost Ripple #amywinehouse

She had danced here

you could still see a memory of her hair fluttering in the wind

blue waves washing her, purifying her

Golden sun crystallized on her lips

some would say “perfect” as they gazed upon her dark beauty

others sobbed in silence

as her lyrical song

caught on the breeze was no more

How many talented men and women lost their lives too soon. Amy Winehouse is just one example of those who like a candle snuffed too soon.

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

  1. Amy Winehouse was another case of too much too soon. She didn’t know how to cope, how to handle everything that was shoved her way. Before these people know it they are surrounded by people who just want their money. They leave reality behind so lost in the people that become their ‘yes’ men. She needed someone to keep her feet on the ground and simply just say ‘No, no more.’
A lovely tribute to her and others like her who leave all too quickly. she was so obviously a tortured soul but, hopefully her soul has found its peace now.

    1. Man, that looks like a job! I sure wouldn’t want to do that seravel times a day Love your new site by the way, and it’s great to be able to leave a comment.

  2. She was so awesome yet so troubled.
    Wonderful tribute to her MDW.
    Leave it to you…
    Loved your story My Friend
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

  3. i don’t know if it’s true, but i just heard on the news that she died, not from a drug overdose, but from alcohol withdrawal due to stopping drinking cold turkey without medical supervision. if true, it makes me even sadder at her loss to think that she was trying to get clean.

  4. Great pic and words in your tribute. I love the words in the lines ” you could still see a memory of her hair fluttering in the wind”. Good closer too! The title describes the loss well as Amy Winehouse is one of those whose songs touched many. Great 55.

    1. Picking out practical top d rlesmbee beneficial to has, However, you can feel dissapointed a new ability generally if the gear does get of system thinning in addition to the stitches..

  5. Yes, Amy was another one of many – “Too young, to know, too much, too soon – Bad Wisdom…” Suzanne Vega, Bad Wisdom, 99.9 F, 1992, This song is about a girl in a different Situation, however the “Bad Wisdom” is something too many of us & our children struggle with.

    Thanks for this lovely tibute.

Your photography blows my mind. “Your photo-kung fu is Strong”

  6. A sweet tribute. It’s so sad that wild success can burn up so many lives. Sometimes when I see the talent shows with young kids competing I almost hope some won;t hit it big for fear fame will destroy them.

  7. Ah Leslie….

reading this and then watching the video… Brings tears to my eyes and that silent scream inside to the back of my throat. We all have such little time. What are we doing away from things we love? Ones we love? Thank you Moon, for the necessary reminder of how fleeting it all is….
