What’s The Point of the Moon? #flashfiction

Often the moon is said to change people’s moods. This moon soothes the savage beast.

“What is the point? ”

No one answered or cared.

The moon was full and bright.

I scowled at the sky.

I heard in the gentle breeze

“look in the reflection here”

I saw soft white light.

It was no reflection of my feelings

“There’s  a point to the moon” I concluded

It keeps me sane!!!!

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

  1. Sometimes reflections are what we want to see.
    Like your new digs Moon…Reflective?
Pensive 55 MDW, I hope all is well…?
Thanks for playing so faithfully, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

    1. In your comment on my blue moon you wrote “I [sic] was a trlife hazy, but I’ll see if I can post one later.” I was afraid your haziness might have been from too much celebrating, LOL, but seeing your photo now I understand it was but a typo. 😀

  2. Love the moon. My husband and I were out when the orange Harvest Moon was full… he grabbed his phone and pointed it to the sky and the constellations were matched up on his screen… Yes, the moon offers hope to many and then drives many mad.

  3. Lovely photo to go with your moon 55. The moon feels like a compass, something we take for granted. What if it disappeared? Would we know when to plant? When to harvest? When to make love on that raft in the pond? Most poeple don’t notice or care. Thanks for noticing and caring.
