My dream had always been to sail around the world but not like…
A storm was raging
Screaming for help pointless
no one
stomach filled with salt water
no control of the helm
no horizon
is this all?
look
there
blue
magnificent
perfect
serene
breathless
sparkling
I had sailed to the end of the world
weekly I participate in a flash fiction in 55 words. I have enjoyed the challenge and I believe my writing is better (at least more succint). G-Man is the host of this meme ck it out here.

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn.
I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community.
I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers.
There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

Oh, that sounds so romantic, to sail around the world but, that’s not for me. I love the water but, to be by it, not on it! LOL Great 55 🙂

What a topsy-turvy world you have painted for us here. I feel tossed by the waves.

Ooh, what a gorgeous 55. I agree with you about the value in our writing these 55s; it’s a great exercise, and this one is a wonderful example of the results!
The young woman who bought my mother’s house after she died sailed all over with her family when she was young. It was a great family project that was her parents’ dream and that lasted three years. Her parents and sibs all loved fish so became adept fishers and loved to eat the catches. But she hated seafood, so when in ports her mother would stock up on (I never heard of this before, but now see it in the grocery having learned it exists…….) …… canned whole chickens!!!!

That comment by nevadanative is me, Lydia at Writerquake. I don’t know why WordPress is suddenly making me sign into my WordPress password. I signed up for one years ago in order to leave comments at WordPress blogs, but then found I could change things up to use my Google/Blogger name and password. Will see what happens to this comment when I log out of WordPress. sigh.

A worthy goal…and scary to complete. Nicely done and wonderful photo to color your words.

It is more succinct. The 55 limit forces us to edit. Always a good thing. Liked your layout in the shape of a spinnaker. Deliberate?

happy accident – I just noticed that. I have tried to have my poetry take shape and form and it never works as well as the accident of words
Thanks
