Spring Cleaning #flashfiction

Her head showed a distinct indentation of hammer.

“She will live but she will never be able to use that arm again” the ER doc sighed with relief.

“Over my dead body …” she shouted

That was the last thing the nosy neighbor heard before she heard the chainsaw whir

“9-1-1 an accident is about to…”

I’ve been having chainsaw dreams ever since I borrowed my friend’s chainsaw to do some cleanup. So what better way to use 55 words for Friday Flash Fiction. Happy Spring cleaning to all and to Mr G who spring cleans on a Harley

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

    1. 14 years, don’t even get started there Yes, I admit it, I have what some might call a tohpry wife.I’d be more like a booby prize tho. She’s light years out of my league but has poor vision in one eye, ergo, my advantage See? obviously of legal age And in a hardware store no less ahhhh yes. My kinda woman.

  1. Chainsaws are a scary thing and a wonderfull thing,

I like these super short flashes because they leave so much open to interpretation. Very different from how I’m used to thinking and writing.

    Thanks, Leslie

    1. I have a very healthy respect for chainsaws and roofs and I am having to deal with both of them at the mo / thus the edgy writing

      1. , referring to the woman who had had 7 husnabds, For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage’. This is a clear indication that the resurrection is spiritual. We try to make it like life here. It is my essence, my spirit that will live. My good will live and so will my bad. It will live in all those I have ever touched, ever influenced. We know what we mean when we say The football teams spirit was positive today’. Why do we find it so difficult to think of our own spirit and its eternal, if attenuated, influence?

  2. I’m sure all the Paul Bunyan types out there associate with this 55
