silent tear falls
“WHY?”
whispered echoes in the trees

Sculpted beauty
stone cold
veined marble
“here lies…
…cherished by many
…embraced by few …
thought of passionately by one”

you held me
too soon released
love longed for
world dreamt of
gone the moment
darkness slipped
her icy fingers
wiped free of guilt
dagger’s voice
entombed
This fiction evolved from a heartfelt epitaph of lost love to an epitaph of one wronged in love. I hope you enjoyed the ending…
