The lone daisy
reminds me of her sunny smile
tender heart that won mine
The lone daisy
a radiant warmth
embracing love’s time
The lone daisy
shines a cheerful glow
day our son came home
The lone daisy
like a pencil in her ear
kind words for those alone
The lone daisy
picked too soon
death gives no reason
The lone daisy
settles on her grave
we apart for a short season
These words are tearfully written in tribute to a woman (Jaye Lynn) who died much too soon. And for a husband (Chris Wood) who looks for sonshine in the little things.

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn.
I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community.
I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers.
There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

Leslie, Daisies were most certainly Jaye Lynn’s favorite flower…. and it is so fitting and special that you would choose that flower to represent her heart and life. Your words are so comforting and true to her inner warmth and glow! Thanks so very much for this tribute…..and she was for sure such a great mom and partner in life.
Grace to us today, Chris

obviously I didn’t know daisies were but for some reason I was inspired to write about her and the daisy seemed to fit her…

The first part of The Villa of Reduced Circumstances is about a German professor who is toltlay baffled by the English manner and sense of humor when he goes on a fellowship to Cambridge University.. The book gets zanier when he goes to Columbia to accept an Honorary Membership from the Columbian Academy of Arts and Letters. You might enjoy listening to the audio tape of this book, as I did, while driving. Its by Alexander MacQueen. (not sure of author’s name) the author who wrote a series of books about The First Ladies Detective Agency.

So sorry for your loss, Leslie. Jaye Lynn sounds like a beautiful soul. I like that her husband now looks for “sonshine”. This poem is lovely.
