Here is the haiku by Mabson O. Southard which is the first stanza of this week’s Tan Renga Challenge (which is to add a second stanza of 7-7):

Just the cellarpit;
only the catbird recalls
the swing of the gate. ~ Southard

on which hang the ages past
children used to laugh and sing ~ L. Moon

This Tan Renga Challenge prompted by Kristjaan Panneman at Carpe Diem

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

      1. when I received eye rolls and atittude I felt confident that no one would take advantage of her when she was an adult. I think atittude is all a part of growing up. They are struggling at finding ways to express their feelings all of them, the dramatic ones. We give them the tools in which to do so. Hang in there!

    1. Hey Martin,This weekend is my wife’s bhdairty, so I’m throwing a dinner party for her and her girlfriends – cooking all her favorites.When I wake up on Sunday from my Henfest-induced coma, I’ll be making some chicken wings, sandwiches, and watching the game in my quiet house. How about you?

    1. The post made me rethink my goals for next year. I used to be all about geittng numbers down on paper and aiming for them when those numbers are all out of my control.So I’ve changed up what I plan to do this year. Like you, my goals are simple. Much simpler than last year which were too complicated and too related to things outside of my control.I think I’ll go put my goals up on my blog right now
