The Ancient Alley’s Story #flashfiction #poetry #amwriting

Aged marks the alley

A way traversed by man

many feet have covered

more years than that  have spanned

Aged marks a history

where crimes in stealth occurred

running for a hidden place

but they had been observed

Aged marks a story

the stones that cannot speak

holding back the knowledge

not told on any street

Aged yes and crafty

we carry many scars

were you to know the secrets

you’d gasp and be alarmed

Seek not for the answers

we whisper in our drink

this alley holds much darkness

they’re coming

for you

we think

Thanks to Rochelle and Friday Fictioneers  for another week, another great prompt, and an entry into an alley where there may be no exit.

I took the liberty of editing Kent Bonham’s shot just a bit. I wanted the focus to be on the stones of this alley.

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

  1. Oh how well the image and words blend to make a total poem and make us wonder about the stories that could be told…Hmm…you should consider a series of stories told form the alley’s perspective.

      1. is nice and simple to add , but i cnonat see the traffic by date and ip . { or may be i dont know how to !!} it would be good to have statics by date and ip also so that we know which date “live feed ” i am seeing. when i click on see popular pages of today i see all pages that have been seen wihtout date . it means that its not real time day basis . as a webmaster i am not able to find out who came when and clicked when . but its more accurate in place location then other counters available hoping to hear soon from you

  2. Holy $h1t that’s good…. I could almost hear drum beats accompanying this; that’s how perfect the rhythm is, darling. Very nice.

    1. Hi Annie and all – on Feedjit Map, how do you figure out the total nmbeur of visits that the percentages are calculating off of?(I posted a question earlier about the “Ignore My Browser” – Annie, you can ignore that in your moderating 😉 I realize that you all are talking about the Live Traffic Feedjit, where I am asking about the Live Map. I found the Options link on the Live Traffic.)thanks!–jr
