end of the day’s walk
thunder warns of storm’s promise
no short-cut
***
The prompt for Chevrefeuillle’s Carpe Diem is Short- Cut inspired by this haiku by Buson:
chikamichi ya mizu fumi wataru satsukiame
on the shortcut path,
stepping through water to cross the meadow
in the summer rains.
I wrote another poetic offering for the thunder and lightening show today.

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn.
I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community.
I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers.

To be caught in the storm is not great.

Love the haiku. Like dark clouds in the sky, it sounds very ominous. Love the photo too. It looks like a water colour painting. Well done 🙂

As the rainstorm breaks loose …. than I would try to take a short cut path …. however a good rain storm can be pleasant after a hot summer day.
