Your arms gentle and smooth
encircle me frail and chill
I curl up into a ball
afraid of life’s battering spill
“no matter” your words sooth
as you thoughtful pick me up
straightening my shoulders
warming me from your own cup
Your kindness starts at your smile
rises up in your eyes
like the clearest blue dawn
radiance of clear summer skies
I am healed and reclaimed
never to be alone
and it is because of you
that I face a new horizon
so I purpose in my life
to carry forth is all I ask
open these once empty arms
to the least such a small task
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
~ Matthew 25:40
If we can but reach out with small tasks to the least of us- what a vibrant warmth will be in our world and on our horizon.
I agree with you Leslie.
