Gone Are Those Days #photography #poetry #dpchallenge

my pool

Gone are summer’s days

many voices many sounds

where we played in sun’s rays

children all around

dreamy is the dog

Never forgotten

are the ones who with wag

give  crisp autumn  smiles

lost season’s sag

my mistake

Gone is winter’s stormy pain

your fingers drew a daggered edge

angled at my heart

free once more to fledge

around my heart

Never forgotten passage’s tears

winding about all but dead

willing life to sprout

binding spring of winter rid

half heart

  1. Another beautiful poem, Leslie. Winter always comes with it a sense of solitude, peace that allows deep thought. Not my favourite season but I think these are the best parts of it. Hope you have a good winter 🙂
