Watching numbers increase
children, moms and dads
many hands join
the clock we aim to beat
suit walked on the moon
put back together
generations to enjoy
happily on history’s loom
reach the number with the crowd
each of us will share a prize
knowing we were a part
Neil’s ghost will be so proud
Yesterday we (staff and volunteers at National Air and Space Museum) watched the numbers hourly as day two of #reboot the suit was underway. I cant tell you how many children and families had their pictures taken by the cardboard copy of Neil Armstrong’s space suit. This is where unity works so well – toward a cause that people can get behind.Check out #Rebootthesuit; it is the first kickstarter that Smithsonian has undertaken for fundraising. Presently on day three, the project is three fifths of the way to the goal.
The prompt at Poet’s United today is Unity.
This is incredible! Loved it ❤

so many memories – as a child there was so much anticipation. I guess all eyes were on the television that day.

It would have been cool to have been there as Sherry say but even knowing it was happening that very moment watching the TV screens I thought I was!

It is amazing to think that man has walked on the moon. I still cannot get my head around it but then again I am still in awe of the telephone and airplanes:)
