Let Your Song Be… #poetry #music

harp music

Deep within my soul

there flows a faithful song

it started as a child

like a friend it tagged along

Whispers in the leaves

and echoes in my head

lingers in heart’s dreams

where daily it was fed

Growing like the falls

music’s river rushes on

deep within my soul

there flows a faithful song

“Without music, life would be a mistake.”
Friedrich Nietzsche,
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent”
Victor Hugo
“Let your song be delicate.”  Is today’s Poets United  (or not)  Prompt
I wonder what song your poetry  might sing…

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

  1. SOunds like there is a touch of nature in your veins.
I wonder has the song stayed consistent all through your life or has it changed?
I wonder if it is the same song and just changes pitch at times.

  2. Leslie, I think this could be set to music. I hear the guitar beat. Smiles. A faithful song within one’s soul is ever welcome. Artistically and delicately penned words.

  3. How much more deeply do we show our emotions but with a song, whether it be joy or sadness we say words are not enough I must bare my soul. This really is so beautiful.

  4. You’ve captured something of the recognition of our own ‘individual song’ that starts in childhood, and if we do the work of listening to who we are, is a song that stays with us on our life journey. Great lines.
