Boys Will Be Boys #atozchallenge #Child’s play #Uganda “B”

“There are new people here. We need to see what they are doing.” We went off to see what the arrival of the two trucks meant.

We ran home at the end of a day of lessons, games and sweets.

“Mama we got to play soccer with a real ball today.” We shared a sweet with baby Mari.

When papa got home we chattered about our day in the center of the village. He was glad to hear that there was excitement in his small village. Maybe the visitors would bring more work; they had promised to build a school and a medical clinic. He smiled as gladly helped gather wood and water.

“They are coming back tomorrow, Grandmother. I wonder what we will do then.”

I have a love for children around the world and I am blessed to play and teach many of them. These anecdotes are fictionalized but true. You will capture what a day is like for a village child along with the challenges for many children. Enjoy

  1. That’s a sweet recollection (even if it is fictionalized). I’m discussing book genres for the A to Z Challenge. I hope you’ll stop by Girl Who Reads.
