The Missed Poem #poetry #blogging #friends

Like a cherry blossom

you fluttered on my cheek

with a waft of fragrance

the smell of pink

you lingered for a day

perhaps it was two

tried to catch up

with the poem and you

you vanished with the sunset

you flickered out of sight

no sign of the poet

you had taken flight

Reflecting on a dear talented poet Jackie Dick who passed several years ago. We met in the blogsphere and I am glad we had a cherry blossom moment. This poem is dedicated to her and other poets who have taken flight.

Sigh #poets #photography

flower

grappled with your verse

making much sense

turned them over in my head

all the things that you’d said

your blue was grey

my yellow faded away

we loved the same

I caressed your name

lost in your prose

how you did it who knows

“we never met” I sigh

 I live between your lines

changing seasons kept  apart

No Burden – Kindness #poetry

framed hand with flower

A hand offered in silence

a smile to soothe the days

eyes light hope’s tomorrows

cast warm summer rays

you choose to accept another

 to greet with friendly smile

burdens often we carry

lighter for two over miles

lean forward into fellowship

melt frost on coldest days

sun breaks the mourning

for God’s gift you can never pay

I am daily graced by the kindness of others. The gesture need not be a grand one but just in a simple act, a smile, a word kindly spoken.  The difference can have a profound effect on a person’s day. Try it!

“Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.:

~Proverbs 3:3

“Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”

~Ephesians 4:32

Unspoken Message #poetry

fog

Does your hem leave a message

“I was here” in the dust

one last passing memory

a soft remaining touch

 your hand ever steady

sweep the last of the day

fingers part foggy mist

like a scene in a play

as our lives ever on

there is so much to say

but to friends it’s enough

gentle kiss blow your way

The prompt at A Prompt Each Day: Through Thick and Through Thin just seems what friends are and what they do…

I am grateful to each of you for the gentle words you say, the laughter you leave behind, and the Smiles!
