Never the Same #Uganda

beauty is always changing

bold colour, broad lines

expect the unexpected

a raindrop fills your hands

smiles big as the horizon

and I wonder

why I ever leave

The Road Before Us #poetry #uganda

Looked over my shoulder to yesterday

time passed in the blink of an eye

the people and memories faded

I never bid them goodbye

I look to the left on this day

all that there is to do

wrap arms around you dear

memory’s time, make a few

I look at the road laid before me

tomorrow’s a wide open land

promise me you will go with me

orange love covers our hands

The unedited photo of Northern Uganda shows a panorama that is rich with children, mamas, papas, grandmothers, grandfathers.

A Way in the Storm 2012 Moondust Designs

broken by cold
world's storm tears fragile promise
fragrant offering called hope

Are you finding yourself alone in this mixed up world of CoVid 19? Worries swirl about your head for yourself, family, the world.

“This is my comfort in my affliction, For your word has given me life.”

~Psalm 119:50

Hang on to the two words Comfort and Affliction that form a parenthesis around the word and very presence of affliction. Trials and afflictions (doubts and pains) may not be nullified, but they are cushioned by the faithful Word of God.

Please take heart today. He is always there.
Inspired by a fellow blogger’s post: a prayer and a flower.

Zebra #poetry #children #school

You look so shy

you are one of a kind

you wear black and white

my kids wear strips

you run and play

and so do they

kids give us smiles

no matter the size

Children are planning to return to school and some are finishing up their lessons for a break. Parents are all too proud of these lives that make ours so full of joy!!!

I drew a zebra for a friend the other day (not this one by my talented parent). Those zebra stripes take all sorts of zigs and zags but they still join up some where in the middle – amazing how that works.

Freedom Cancelled #poetry #alzheimers

rose bud bloom

decided on its own colour

catching random raindrops

she danced each spring

a calla lily

ivory  water cup

opens like a scroll

makes my heart sing

dry dusty petals

always winter

a ballerina once

no longer remembering

****

a swan song

the seasons changed her dance

robbed of her wings

Cat #children #Atozchallenge

This beauty was in the Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda. Glad we had a large vehicle with closed windows. Our host’s son was on his first Safari (well so was I.) What a joy to watch a child as he chases the animals in his imagination.

Here kitty

Kitty…

meow

the king of the jungle

or queen

her breathing is loud

his roar means you are too close

run!!!!!
