i

I looked in to you

waving in the breeze

a smile big as the sun

climbing with my knees

laying beneath you

in  your big shadow

nature’s bed at my command

sand between my toes

I ate from your fruit

white and juicy meat

hardest nut I’d cracked

my mess’n wasn’t neat

Imagery: is the name given to the elements in a poem that spark off the senses. Despite “image” being a synonym for “picture”, images need not be only visual; any of the five senses (sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell) can respond to what a poet writes.

I Wait for Forever #poetry #photography

Forever it seems

I wait upon this shore

my eyes are open

have not what I need to see

*

I wait upon the shore

wistful thoughts

pass by like clouds

what must it be like to soar?

*

My eyes are open

ocean’s spray starts my sight

beauty too magnificent

 these lips explanation cannot cope

*

I have not what I need to see

to the other side

but there will come a day

when forever will surpass my dreams

No Memory #poetry #photography

one impression

Do you feel a remnant of my warmth in this place?

Or Am I just a wraith of shadowy memory?

where there is naught but a hint or a trace

do you feel a remnant of my warmth in this place?

where there is naught but a hint or a trace

once I walked there in the colors of the sea

do you feel a remnant of my warmth in this place?

naught but a wraith of shadowy memory…

One Day Away #poetry #suicide

There is a walk down the beach of anywhere that is the last. It is the walk into the sea of suicide.

One day soon

I will walk away

where you ask

neither matters

nor the day

*

i have found

too hard to bear

this shallow orb

few listen

fewer care

*

beseeching

hand stretches for me

look at the colors

feel the wind

light flicker in the trees

*

yes  i’ve seen beauty

and more

heard all  nature

crescendoed  sound

beckoning at the shore

*

it’s not the world

I care to leave

it’s the broken heart

fragile tears

love bereaved

*

do not miss me

when i’m gone

walk the beaches

touch her beauty

in her be strong

I shared this poem over at the Poetry Pantry hosted by Poets United

Our Beach #oneshotwednesday

Early dawn awakens

calling us to her

waves recede their motion

revealing white treasure

*

unveiled  each saucy look

Wide eyed as a child

taking in the picture

things so tame yet wild

*

birds stilt-like skinny legs

scurry dodge the flow

She knows us and smiles

little ones on the go

**

lovers in their own world

place where it all starts

hoping never for an end

passion gives a spark

**

wondrous moments in the fog

fingers always clasped

bare foot momentary prints

they  never seem to last

**

Seashells never found before

driftwood sadly bare

relics of those broken hearts

dreams , never shared

***

we take a walk along our beach

and reach toward the sand

quickly reaches back at us

her foam covered hand

***

I grew up and lived at or close to the beach. The world there is free, clean and wild. It always beckons some of us back for more.

The Message is Gone – Flash fiction

He carefully forms his message in the sand

Shells in a heart shape emphasizing

Love ~ devotion

An unexpected wave crashes

Everything at that moment for her is

GONE

Each week Monkey Man hosts flash fiction in 160 characters. Like writing a tweet – it takes some doing to convey thought in so few words. Come join the fun!

Family Outing (perfect for Flash Friday)

It was the perfect family outing

sun was shining over the beach

the pacific ocean glistened

children made sand castles

a shrill scream was heard

nothing to worry about

certain rides on the Boardwalk

always evoked a combination of terror and mirth

during closing one of the staff found a girl dead

in the hall of horrors

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. - Edgar Allan Poe
