Narrow #photography #challenge

walk these halls

resonant voices of the past

empty now

I found this one day when I was operating the elevator in the Smithsonian. I wanted to explore but I had to let my camera do what I could not.

Thanks City Sonnet for the month long challenge. Today’s prompt “narrow”

Simultaneity is today’s Napowrimo topic

The Definition of Simultaneity is the relation between two events assumed to be happening at the same time in a frame of reference. According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, simultaneity is not an absolute relation between events; what is simultaneous in one frame of reference will not necessarily be simultaneous in another.

The silver ringed the moon
uniform, shiny squares line my brain
“it’s going to rain tomorrow”
the empty line was endless
what an unusual glow on my ring finger
monochrome seems to work
“my mind never makes sense anymore”
stars won’t get in tonight’s way
It’s too dark in my mind
all because of the silver ringed moon

Poetry doesn’t always make sense but sometimes it helps clarify the questions in your mind.
This poem is written in honor to the Alzheimer’s patients whom I dearly love and respect.

Behind the Elevator #poetry #photography

hall

Beckoned to the mystery

something I might dread

there has to be something

behind the hallway of my head

my finger shudders, lingers

on THE button slowly now

once I press it “Open”

“Close” may not be allowed

my hand makes the decision

reason swirls with dismay

one thing I can tell you

I’ll never be the same

If I told you what I found there

you’d be in a tangle too

but I signed a special paper

you’ll wish in part you knew

the question now arises

where am I am I not

if you knew the answer

you’d stand to lose alot

Wishing all the Poet’s United folks a happy Wednesday and Happy Thanksgiving (for those who are celebrating) and thanks Sumana for the prompt “Hyperbole.”

I dont know about you but I am still dealing with (last year’s) leaves that are covering new spring growth.

Its symbolic of my life at the moment.

So how is spring turning out for you or fall if you are in the southern hemisphere?

Kristjaan at Carpe Diem has done a lovely job of sharing a picture of kigo Nowaki and in the process has taken a walk in the storm with Basho. Enjoy Nowaki inspirations here

Autumn Stripped Bare #photography

“My sorrow, when she’s here with me, thinks these dark days of autumn rain are beautiful as days can be. she loves the bare, the withered tree, she walks the sodden pasture lane.” ~Robert Frost

This Week’s picture and quote prompt  provided by Ese is bare. Autumn a fitting time for bare and black and white.
