A Way in the Storm 2012 Moondust Designs

broken by cold
world's storm tears fragile promise
fragrant offering called hope

Are you finding yourself alone in this mixed up world of CoVid 19? Worries swirl about your head for yourself, family, the world.

“This is my comfort in my affliction, For your word has given me life.”

~Psalm 119:50

Hang on to the two words Comfort and Affliction that form a parenthesis around the word and very presence of affliction. Trials and afflictions (doubts and pains) may not be nullified, but they are cushioned by the faithful Word of God.

Please take heart today. He is always there.
Inspired by a fellow blogger’s post: a prayer and a flower.

Can’t You See the Hunger? #poetry #homeless

Your large eyes

wide open like saucers

empty hands

longing to be held

one look into the world

you can feel it

“Hunger”

a gasp

needing to be expelled

*

Have your lips

tasted more than sawdust?

Has your heart been over filled

with warmth?

Do you circle life

in desperation

ever seeking shelter from

life’s storm

*

Raise your head

never stop your seeking

don’t give way

to darkness and despair

there’s a sunrise, golden

that is peaking

over hope’s horizon

where you’ll be held and fed

I’m trying to address homelessness from many angles. This poem looks straight into the eyes of those who have so little. There is much a person can endure with hope. Without hope however even the best of situations can readily disintegrate.

Inspired by Poet’s United Mid Week Motif Prompt Hunger.

Lonely but not alone #flashfiction

you whisper into the night

“I am lonely”

…look into the skies

behold stars twinkle

trying to warm you

a hawk crys out

it longs to be heard by you

a fountain bubbles

tries to wash over you

hands reach out

to be held by you

the corners of your mouth curl

smiling at life

The Ebb and Flow

Just as friendship

so is the Sea

she flows in and out

she listens to me

I hear her voice

sometimes strong others soft

like the shell

that holds the sound aloft

Speaking one day

not the next

never would I

put our friendship to rest

there’s comfort and courage

in the words we speak

I ponder so many

some I repeat

Like a child

I clamor  – hunger for more

there’s never too much

wisdom from my friend at the shore

In Another World…

In another world…

I would have known your smiles
loved your laugh
walked the miles
By your side
some highs some lows
I’d be there
through all your woes
in the end
there’d always be
your strong shoulder
to comfort me
