I tried to draw a wave today
but the eraser dust got in the way
tidal motion’s graceful ease
children’s toes the waters tease
your salty spray my soul it bathes
and you energized by sun’s warm rays
the deepness holds our secret close
nighttime a dance that no one knows
treasures held beneath the mist
many sailors call you their one “mistress”
I won’t share what I drew today
the eraser dust got in the way
“Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,
So do our minutes hasten to their end”
…Shakespeare
