Every Time I Cry #poetry #Uganda

I dot my eyes

 tears continue to fall

 smiles and sounds start to dim

their imprint lays on my heart

the beat of love calls within

 tho it hurts to say “goodbye”

 tomorrow’s hope is in my hand

I wiggle its fingers

I dot my eyes

  warmed by the setting  Ugandan sun

What We Can’t See #devotion #photography #poetry

winter castle

There is beyond the winter

beauty beneath the snow

like a shivering bulb

we know there is spring

we cannot see its bud

nor force its opening

 the sun alone

can entice the bloom

there is a beauty beyond winter

we will shed this life’s pain

 perfect magnificence

 is held in secret

an eternal spring

will one day

open its gates to the sun

beckoning us home

rose budding

“But it is written ‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him…'”

1 Corinthians 2:9

We can neither see nor imagine the beauty of the place that God has fashioned for us. But we can on the weariest of days take comfort in the knowledge that such a place lies in wait just as the bulb that waits to open its face come spring. As you anticipate the warmth and beauty of spring, soak in the hope of Heaven!

Eyes of Love #poetry #devotion

a touch of cherry

In the reflection of the moment

as the candle flickers

refusing to die out – I see it

The love of the bridegroom

how can he love something so plain

at this moment colorless

my only adornment a few flowers

his smile is like a rainbow

I want  to hold it in my hands

fragrance overwhelms me

like a springtime garden

opening fresh faces to the sun

I am loved, I am loved

the words swirl around me

in whispers, in songs

I become like a prima ballerina

leaping over blue clad clouds

and it only took

one moment to know

when I looked in his eyes

The Lord is likened to a Bridegroom whose heart swells with love when his bride enters the room. No one else is there just the bride and the bridegroom. How is it possible when there are so many brides to be singled out, to be special, to have a one and only kind of love with such a lover?

“The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.”

~John 3:29

Can’t You See the Hunger? #poetry #homeless

Your large eyes

wide open like saucers

empty hands

longing to be held

one look into the world

you can feel it

“Hunger”

a gasp

needing to be expelled

*

Have your lips

tasted more than sawdust?

Has your heart been over filled

with warmth?

Do you circle life

in desperation

ever seeking shelter from

life’s storm

*

Raise your head

never stop your seeking

don’t give way

to darkness and despair

there’s a sunrise, golden

that is peaking

over hope’s horizon

where you’ll be held and fed

I’m trying to address homelessness from many angles. This poem looks straight into the eyes of those who have so little. There is much a person can endure with hope. Without hope however even the best of situations can readily disintegrate.

What’s Your: Perspective #photography #poetry

Looking from your side

of reality

what do you see?

He sees

books

I see

Does it matter the angle

 require a dodge?

Is perspective the viewer?

the critic my dog?

Early in the morning

the dawn and  I do rise

looking as the sun peeks

in my lover’s eyes

driving toward a new day

against a wakening sky

longing for that first cup

I Wait for Forever #poetry #photography

Forever it seems

I wait upon this shore

my eyes are open

have not what I need to see

*

I wait upon the shore

wistful thoughts

pass by like clouds

what must it be like to soar?

*

My eyes are open

ocean’s spray starts my sight

beauty too magnificent

 these lips explanation cannot cope

*

I have not what I need to see

to the other side

but there will come a day

when forever will surpass my dreams

Fallen Rose

A Red, Red Rose
By Robert Burns
~~~
O my Luve’s like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve’s like the melodie
That’s sweetly play’d in tune.
~~~
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I:
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry:
~~~
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun:
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.
~~~
And fare thee well, my only Luve
And fare thee well, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho’ it were ten thousand mile.
~~~
~~~~~

My love is like the rose

red are  her lips that speak

soft fragrance on her skin

I wish to breathe so deep

~

She is so fair my dear

her eyes they becoken me

deeper than blue sky

foamier than the sea

~

I cherish you  my heart

true to the end you’ll see

on one knee I did ask

loving devotion thou didst read

~

I bid thee now farewell

yet for a little while

It cannot be too long

my world wrapped up in your smile
