A Smile Defies Gravity #poetry

smileSomeday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

If I were free of life’s daily trials
I would rein in the mouth of the wind
riding over clouds and sun’s rays
I would race comet’s tails
If I could hold water in my hand
I would sculpt the waves
swim with dolphins and whales
pirouette on the shifting sands
If I like the moon could move tides
I would give joy a sail
let love’s torch light child, woman man

never allow frowns only smiles

***
Gravity’s face
unleash severity’s pull
frown into a smile
Thankful for the folks at Poet’s United who each week look for  ways to inspire our creativity. Today’s prompt is (as Im sure you guessed) Gravity.
