A Dream of Love #poetry #atoz #napowrimo

from my window

My love for you forever be

emblazoned in our hearts and minds

Its timelessness will set us free

my love for you forever be

“someday”-  always you and me

if we can only bide the time

my love for you forever be

emblazoned in our hearts and minds

Nautilus

This year for  A to Z challenge, I am using the Nautilus as my inspiration all month. The shell has many chambers (at least enough to fit all the letters.)  You will find poetry,  You will find some dark stuff (as I am attempting to branch into the horror genre), You will also see a smattering of short stories or prose (some with children in mind) others as lessons that we can all learn from. I look forward to  meeting you and getting to know some talented writers over this month long writing journey. Please check over at the A to Z challenge and see what they are up to; they are a fine bunch of folks.

Dance With Me #tango #haiku

Dance with me
Dance with me

Held in your embrace

Latin chords begin to play

“we” are all we know

***

starting as a pair

the music is unaware

that we aren’t just one

**

hot, wet is your kiss

heated hearts take flight and soar

whirling willed by notes

Through the Portal… #OneShotWednesday

Look with me through that portal there

A world where the sun never sets

Light scintillates playfully on crystal clear waters

New life springs forth ~ a prism of beauty and vigor

***

Look with me at the wonders of life

hands laced offering comfort and strength

sweet melodic words caught in the breeze

unceasing devotion spoken with sparkling eyes

***

Look with me at a vibrant love

slipping between the fabric of unquenched desire

passion is caught never let go

a magnificent beat echos in two hearts

***

Come with me to that place

where the sun never sets on our love

catch me and never let me go

know love in eyes that say “forever yours”

this is where I want to be

I will extend two invitations today. One to our growing poetry site at One Stop Poetry. We welcome poets to share their work and get feedback.

The second to read the prologue of my novel The Quest for Titan co-authored with Sean Vessey. I have collaborated in the past – when it works the words flow. Sean is a fantastic person to share ideas with ~ this novel is writing itself ( practically).

Thanks to each of you for your support, encouragement and inspiration – you keep me going each day as a writer.

The Last of the Hearts (One Stop Poetry)

The game of life was on

players easing into another hand

spades, diamonds and clubs  flying

one man controlled the game

with high trump

***

masterfully skilled

keeping his eye on the others

the cavalier swept more into his cache

waiting to take it

all

***

… and there they were

the helpless hearts

could no one protect them

from his grasp?

**

Alas

none could stand

against this man

the skillful manipulator

***

one lone heart beat

quivering

against his dark gleam

hoping for

reprieve

***

holding herself back

lest she too

be swept into the pile

of broken hearts

This poem is just one amoungst the myriad of finely written work. Please check out the poets at One Stop Poetry.

Silence (One Shot Wednesday) #poetry

The space between our words

almost as piteous

as the distance between

our hearts

***

Unbearable silence

when you abandon me

I am left enslaved

on a thought

for days

***

To measure loneliness

by absence

of sound

expounds emptiness

***

my heart is trapped

in this vacuum

silence

will  be

my ruin

Each week One Stop Poetry aspires to join poets together to express and inspire. One Shot Wednesday is an open community for those who  love to write poetry.

Hearts -Side by Side

He listens more to the words she writes

than most listen to the words she speaks

understands, anticipates the unspoken

what is this relationship?

transcendent reality, illusion of happiness

her mind  alive in him

world where thoughts merge

takes her breath away while never breathing the same air

*****

blue of  her eyes seen in each clear sky

knows the gentle quiver of her smile

yet  never touches her lips

rose-like  softness and fragrance awaken his senses

each touch belongs to her fingertips

in the path of life their hearts walk side by side

a  song echos their story

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. - Edgar Allan Poe
