Calendar’s clock

autumn sets nature’s pace

I can’t catch her

Frenzied is my pace

Sun sheds light

collecting shells for answers

tide caresses day

The prompt this week at Poets United is “Energy/ Vitality.”

“Pointing to another world will never stop vice among us; shedding light over this world can alone help us.”
Walt Whitman

Where do you get your energy from? I get mine from the sun (especially at the ocean.) It’s that calming energy that gives perspective rather than that rush about flailing for answers.

Haiku Pond #poetry

A lesson from Kristjaan at  Carpe Diem Haiku Kai – writing haiku using Basho’s haiku as a template to work from.

For this challenge I have chosen a haiku, you all certainly know, written by Basho (1644-1694).
