I draw an endless line
I’ve forgotten where’s the start
fingers know the texture
lines drawn upon my heart
*
countless beyond measure
the sands beneath my feet
a child’s toes remember
sea memories so deep
*
I’ve drawn an endless line
forgotten where’s the start
at times I’ve lost all hope
those lines have etched my heart
*
a hand full of grains
unbidden do they fall
a place to return to
changeless after all
*
I’ve drawn an endless line
forgotten where’s the start
dreams to the four winds
poetry is my heart
*
today I sketch a new life
the dawn is just ahead
new hope in the making
the sand my faithful friend
*
I draw an endless line
forgotten where’s the start
fingers know the texture
lines drawn upon my heart
A dear patient passed two years ago today. Hospice is a hard world. Each caregiver/nurse gives a piece of heart. Thankfully like the sand there are many pieces. Thank you for reading…

her fragile skin
fall crackles beneath feet
blue eyes question
sky hidden behind clouds
your arms reach out for emptiness
wind blows yesterday’s away
our fingers grasp each other
another good day

Working with the elderly is filled with joy and tears. Little bits or progress are a victory. Laughter and friends heal many of yesterday’s scars.
“And the rocket’s red glare…”
In a wide-eyed gaze he stared
heard the sounds of cannon and musket
“the bombs bursting in air”
paradise was obliterated
swatting at bugs, ignoring the moist stench
“Gave proof through the night”
trudged forward into a world resembling a mirage
life was put on hold by madness
“That our flag was still there”
he shook himself back to reality
freedom comes with a cost
Happy Forth of July to my fellow countrymen
drop of love
endures storm’s seas
strong arms
To the woman whose strength is her beauty. Her compassion is her smile. She wills us to be better and she stands by us in our worst moments. Her applause thunders in pride in our success.
One day to radiate our love back!!
bright is my world

If you know me, you know I have tried to work in Liberia, No. Africa, Congo and So. Africa. I never thought of Uganda, the Nile or mosquito netting as my “likely.”
The photo challenge this week is “Unlikely”
These pictures are all taken at Fort Murchison. A beautiful get-away and great place to enjoy an African Safari.
All ages
captivated by flying
out of air
When I think of prolific I think of the number of aircraft at the Annual Innovations in Flight. From Hot air balloons to planes that break the sound barrier, it’s a great day spent at Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum in Chantilly Northern Virginia.
Set this day aside if your love old cars, old aircraft, history and a fun day. This year it will be held on June 16th. Did I mention that it is FREE??? The only cost is for parking. Please join us for prolific amount of AIR!!!!
This week’s wordpress photo prompt is prolific
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
Looking ahead, without looking back (too often)
Thanks for following a cowgirl on her crazy life journey.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. - Edgar Allan Poe
