“N” is for new #atozchallenge #children

children played

mothers watched

siblings pumped water

all was well with the world

it’s a new setting

no more fists flying

soccer balls in the air

new relationships

on the horizon

This land is filled with anger and frustration. What a great day when children of all ages play instead of fight. My eyes watered when a big boy reached his hand to help a younger boy who had tripped kicking the ball.

Part of the Whole #devotion #poetry #humanity

chains and people

Whether poor or rich, tall or short

very young or oh so old

you child are part

of the greater whole

in this spinning world

rushing out of control

man would extinguish

the birds that sing

destruction is such a waste

still we await

the coming spring

we are connected

on each other lean

remember that this God above

the designer of hope

something great called Love

I am reminded of some sweet moments as a nurse and teacher with the friends I had made.  An outsider could have considered us different: Our language and skin color was not the same but the radiance in our smiles was like an echo and our voices had a beautiful blend as we sang. Culture may mold us and hand us mores. But as my dear friend Hil would say, we are sisters all the same. As the watercolors of life streak and create a new color, “man” gets angry at the thought that a “oneness” could be the start of a new day.

As a chain gathers strength by being linked together,  we as people gain support as we clasp hands and work together.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

Ezekiel 36:26
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

2 Corinthians 5:7
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Revelation 21:4

Yesterday’s New #dpchallenge #photography #poetry

… it flowed away from yesterday

journey’s path was set anew

what came between us

can’t be read in tomorrow’s news

let us leap toward a new day

one I see rising on the horizon

no need for a replay

let’s race to meet the sun

A new year is time for many things. Yes we can reflect on yesterday but there are new horizons to aim toward.

Fresh #poetry #photography

beauty

Fresh

 fallen the night before

crisp

 footprints on distant shore

crystalline

capturing  fallen light

colorful

red rose smiling bright

holding

hands clasped this day

speechless

love needed nothing to say

vowed

spoken to the skies

renewed

snowflakes in our eyes

free

petals fall in the breeze

laughter

whispers spoken to the trees

fallen

strong stood aged oak

memory

 song where new life awoke

reaching

striving for the sun

hoping

new path on which to run

In 75 words or less: A New Year.  Again.  Are you a fan of “new”? Or are you tired of the whole idea of “new,” preferring the tried and true?

Newness a prompt from Poet’s United.

Broken

Look at me

I

once was whole

I had a purpose

I was together

Now life has taken a toll

broken

me

bit by bit

**

There’s beauty in the break

new direction

purpose too

Now I take

a different view

on life

it’s broken

A new

whole
