I full of dismay
at the way this world behaves
I am taught at school
be kind, obey the rules
I’m sad
some people are so bad
I want people to get along
why not sing together songs
I emotion write
they threaten, kill out of spite
This poem may seem juvenile (in light of the heinous attacks in Paris) but it is written to make a statement.
Children are taught at a young age to: be kind, not hurt others, get along. What happened to the adults in this world with a penchant for holding hostage and killing innocent people? Did they unlearn the principles they were taught as kiddies? Perhaps we need to send everyone back to school to learn the basics from children.
