Yaweh- You are God
your words spoken through the light
majesty is yours
The prompt at Carpe Diem is the Emperor which is one of the Tarot cards. The emperor can also refer to God.

Justice #poetry #politics
pronounce it anyway you like
accent or not
it has been served up
as a pig’s head on a platter
indecorously
Wielded like a four letter word
between the sheets
as a man takes what is “his”
forcefully
Falls with steel-like force
in one swift move
obliterating life in its path
sharply
Is bandied about
by men who think they know
something about the law
arrogantly
Fails to meet the mark
for the common man
the one who needs it the most
discriminatingly
In days when it is needed the most, where has it flown???
The Power of the Moon #poetry
Gaze down on me
beautiful one
possessing ethereal qualities
so unlike the sun
*
Sing, Dance and Play
long into the night
at morning’s edge
skip away from light
*
Lovers blend
and caress too
captives held by
the glow of you
*
There is a mystery
you won’t show
magnetism
they will never know
*
You pull together
for a moonlit dip
those in your orbit
joined in
your luminescent grip
The Power of the Poet
Sometimes you just get lucky and strike gold on the first try. That’s what I feel has happened with One Stop Poetry.
After meeting and reading so many wonderful poets( on-line), Brian Miller, Pete Marshall , Adam Dustus, and myself decided to create a community for poets and writers. I know how much the inspiration means to me and we hope others will be inspired to create with words.
Join us any day of the week for poetic inspiration. Please post and link your own works on Wednesday 12:00 am UK time for One Shot Wednesday.
What’s in the works:
Awards for the Poet of the Month
Prizes
Expression Page for Youth
Poet’s Forum
More ….

The Power of the Poet
With a voice you speak
like a flag unfurled
you speak with a word
that can change the world
*
Using words
express them away
it is possible
to change the world in a day
*
Bring light to the world
some promise thrown in
reality to ponder
powerful words from within
*
Poets give from their hearts
a vision they see
might just change
you and me
Fragments (by guest poet D. Holloway)
Just fragments
and meaningless images
line my mind today,
yet from somewhere
an awesome display
***
of endless plains
meeting the sea
and thunderous waves
shouting at me
***
and power rushing
as if to meet
it’s friend the end
lapping at my feet
***
receding rapidly
in a foamy disguise,
all seen in a moment
in a realm without eyes
