beautiful notes
larks join in sky’s symphony
rain plays tympani

pounding on the pane
spring colours run grey
listen… the chorus
**
perfect key
he sips from a lily
break in the storm

beyond repair
pulled as tide transitions
when it rains it pours
The DP Challenge is a great way to challenge your photographic eye this weeks prompt is Transition
Scattered about
by big raindrops
little feet
water puddles seek
some under hoods
umbrellas hide
creatures burrow
wait for God’s rainbow
Shared with Poet’s United Poets Pantry.
The picture of the rainbow I found years ago and I dont know who to attribute the beauty to.
Looking up to curse nature’s tears
you freeze as you plummet toward my plot of dirt
the contingent of birds and woodland life shivers
no one wants to venture out
bombarded by winter’s calling card
with one added degree of warmth you thaw
no longer a harsh sleet
your cascade is gentle as you brush against leaves
caressing and nourishing the brown earth
beautiful notes
larks join in sky’s symphony
rain plays tympani
hibari naku naka no hyoshi ya kiji no koe
through the skylark’s singing
comes the beat
of pheasants’ cries
~ Basho
Today’s prompt for Chevrefeuille’s Carpe Diem Month long celebration is “Skylark’s Singing” in honor of Basho.
Rain drops collide with mid afternoon heat
thunder’s timpani roll in loud rumbles
the conductor excitedly increases the tempo
light flashes as the cymbals strike
leaves clap their hands
trees bow in deference
the moon’s light brightens the sky
nature hushes waiting for a silvery banquet
fire flies approach the dance floor
spinning their partners in charged ecstasy
summer beads off my brow as I watch day’s end
It rained a blue and silent yawn
catching warm colors that suited
dancing yellows, reds and dawn
It rained a silent gazing yawn
dancing yellows, reds and dawn
I held my volume level muted
It rained for me a silent yawn
catching drops warm colors suited
The Triolet fits the prompt of silence nicely I think.
The Triolet: Its rhyme scheme is ABaAabAB and often all lines are in iambic tetrameter: the first, fourth and seventh lines are identical, as are the second and final lines, thereby making the initial and final couplets identical as well.
Slain
by your sharp edged heart
well aimed piercing
dart
*
Dripping
off the edge of my page
blood flows free at this
stage
*
Alone
none to hold back the pain
too late to catch bloody
rain
*
Undone
mere ashes in your hands
fiend, my death so long
planned

Embrassez moi
sous la pluie
ne jamais cesser
*
never stop
holding me with your heart
catch love’s tears
*
catch love’s tears
save them in a bottle
for a sunny day
The prompt for today’s Carpe Diem is “Embrace.” There are many forms of that gesture I was in a romantic mood so my haiku cascade starts with a French Kiss!!!

The Tan Renga Challenge is to write a second stanza (7-7) in response of the first stanza (5-7-5). In that way you make the Tan Renga complete. The first stanza, a haiku (this week by JzB), is 5-7-5 syllables and the second stanza (an echo) has 7-7 syllables.
Haiku by Jazzbumpa
green leaves turn orange
amid the colors we see
cold raindrops falling (JzB)
My response
daring to catch season’s end
nature reaches out a hand
This is Carpe Diem’s wonderful Tan Renga challenge. An additional challenge to create an echo to the original work. Jazzbumpa is an excellent crafter of words you can read more of his work.
Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
Looking ahead, without looking back (too often)

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. - Edgar Allan Poe
