under glass

Like a science project

something to be analyzed

we never touch you

we only observe

write the data

pen the findings

draw a conclusion

You in the world’s fishbowl

swimming against a red tide

only to find

all of your school is missing

though the report

“only a few are dead”

Brilliant you fighting fish

swimming in cadence

parading about in colorful costume

destroying the inhabitants

watery souls

face down in the sea

****

I can find nothing about friends who reside in Crimea.

Ukrainians who love their country are threatened with each step .

My friends where have you gone???

Unveil Me #atozchallenge #poetry #photography

uUnveiled me

 more than a covering

look beneath

Unveil me

look with eyes at a new world

perfection

Unveil me

look to the heart of the matter

more than cells

Unveil me

past a scoping tube

a mere reflection

unveil me

look clear to my heart

I am me

“Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.”

I am posting this for A to Z Challenge and Poet’s United Motif where the prompt is Science.

Just a little harmless research #flashfiction

“What has happened?” I asked my staff of bio-engineering scientists.

“Well sir…”

“Something spilled…”

“Got out of its jar…”

“It seems perfectly harmless…”

What I could ascertain from the words that they dared not say was that the research we were doing to propagate larger and healthier plants had worked. So well, in fact, that when a bee got loose and sucked up what spilled from a beaker we had a bee the size of a house.

“Now what do we do with a monstrous bee?”

I eyed the beaker. The scientist in me considered the possibilities.

This week’s rather large photo prompt was submitted by Jennifer Pendergast. Rochelle is the fearless hostess at Friday Fictioneers where stories are the 100 word variety.
