There it was after I strived for so many years. Looking high and low, I had searched for the one place that my inheritance – the key fit into. There was a beautiful image of a woman. I’m not sure if she was a fairy, but I could sense magic in her midst.
“Put out your hand,” her voice lovely and serene.
In my opened hands, she dropped a stone.
“Choose wisely for there is only one that you will be given and with that wish a consequence.”
I opened my mouth to ask a question. She delicately placed her finger on my lips and was gone.
“I’ve heard about these situations in stories. They never seem to end quite right.”
I heard the breeze and it seemed to laugh – just a bit.
“Choose what?” I looked at the stone hoping for an answer.
“I wish I could phone a friend about this.” I cupped my hands over my mouth realizing too late my mistake.
There in front of me in the middle of the wilderness was yes you guessed it – a phone.

I have to say it was beautiful. It looked like my grandmother’s old phone with one major difference her phone was made of some kind of tough plastic and this was wrought of silver. It sparkled as the sun’s rays played with it.
“What am I going to do with you?” I sat down trying to figure out who to call.
Just then the phone rang.
“Hello?” I said a little off balance.
“I had to call you. I had the weirdest premonition that you had turned into a flat, silver person.”
I laughed at my sister; holding the receiver, I was unable to respond.
