Right now in Haiti there is a “round the clock” effort to find those still alive and trapped in the rubble. The hours are ticking away. Searchers know that time is not their friend. Family members are frantically posting pictures and names of those still missing.
“My sister, her husband and their two young kids… Please oh please help us find them so my mom and I can actually sleep at night,” just one of an overwhelming list of missing posted on an on-line message board. (CNN)
It is a seemingly hopeless business. For every victory, there is a setback. With every recovery, there are many still missing. Those still hidden under the rubble are screaming out in their spirits – Dont Forget Me! I’m Here!
Is Hope Missing?
“No (break). No chance. We will have to deal with new needs, new sufferings, new situation of hunger, new despair, new devastation.” states Rev. Duken Augustin in an e-mail. (Huffington Post: Nicholas Sabloff)
The news is sobering. Where does one look for a piece of hope?
The hope is in the faithful rescue workers. Please don’t give up! Reach in, grab, search. Hurry the clock is ticking!
Thank You to all those who are searching and who are not giving up on those who would otherwise be forgotten. Take heart.
