The First Light #poetry #light

Beneath the first light

I raise my heart in supplication

lift me up Oh Lord

off my trembling knees

life’s burdens hold me down

*

Beneath the first light

my eyes to meet the sun

reflections on the hill

beckoned to dance

nature all around

*

Beneath the first light

I raise my voice to sing

notes like butterflies

I am reminded I am free

no shackles hold me down

“If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things… And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world , and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”

John 3:12 & 19

girl at coffee

the lack of a smile in her eyes told me

she too young to hide that radiant glow

too much tarnish to buff away

butterflies and girls should fly free

you are worthy this you should know

go with nature dance, sing, Play!

Too often young people are made to feel they aren’t good enough.

What a shame when someone with so much potential is robbed before even given the chance to try.

What do you do to stay young?

Highlighting some writers who make a difference in my blogging world:

Linda has a heart for the nature around her (and she’s a great storyteller)  – Rangewriter

Charlie writes poetry that hits the marrow – Read Between the Minds

Mabel writes keenly about the mix of her Australian and Asian culture Mabel Kwong

Magyar lives somewhere between the sea and the world of haiku Magyar Haiku

Honore writes, shoots amazing photography and shares his travels – This Corner of the Woods

Ranu her pen is embraced in beauty –Sabethville

And some A to Z folks to enjoy today:

Beneath the first light

I raise my voice to sing your glory

notes flutter on the breeze like butterflies

I am reminded I am free

not shackled to this world

I cannot use

words to express

no rhyme no reason

so sad

I confess

**

For I have sworn

duly so

to not reveal my heart

but this you

know

***

Were I able

I’d sing a song

dance in the moonlight

all night

long

***

In our eyes

there’d be no trace

in sorrow

or sadness

there is no place

***

Gladness and laughter

would fill each line

spilling in verse

no sense

of time

*

But I am speechless

yes it is so

for I am bound

from romance

sad –  I know

Michelangelo is my favorite sculptor. This piece (one of the captive series)  has so much feeling.

Blue Moon / The Seer(poems)

Blue Moon ( by Moondustwriter)

Last night she was bright

nothing blue

when I look at you

silvery light

makes me dance

makes me sing

My attire was right

moon dust covered the night

soaking in the pure

cold delight of you

the moon she must shine

don’t you know she is mine

we are joined

by the dance

til the end of romance

The Seer (by Dave Holloway)

It’s in love’s nature
to reveal what’s true,
to un-clutter the path
between me and you.

Yet that’s too close,
the seer will say.
Too many lies
structure the day.
Betrayals arrive
to keep truth at bay.
To protect the illusions
cluttering the way.

See how that works?
asked the aging seer.
The greater the truth,
the greater the fear.
