Kayla’s Song #devotion #poetry #kaylamueller

The part of me that pains the most

also gets me out of bed…”

The memory of all He’s done

so little I have to dread

without your hope there is nothing left

no sky, no hills, no sea

But with the loving knowledge I hold

None can break the will in me

Look up behold His nail pierced hands

no longer on that tree

the Lord sent on  a servant’s deed

He came and rescued me

You men of terror

I shed a tear

You score your life with death

my savior rules with love divine

you are lost eternally bereft

The part of me that pains the most

also gets me out of bed…”

The victory in all He’s done

I am not afraid of death

“I find God in the suffering eyes reflected in mine.  If this is how You (God) are revealed to me, this is how I will forever seek You.” Kayla Jean Mueller (a martyr at the hands of ISIS)

You have probably heard of the senseless death of Kayla Jean Mueller- be inspired by her faith and her victory.

This poem is inspired by the last letter that her parents received from women that were released who shared a cell with Kayla. The italicized words are her own.

You can read her letter here.

Kayla is not the only martyr in this reign of terror. Be strong and courageous for the days are filled with evil…

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

John 10:10

“When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; He brought me into a spacious place.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?
The Lord is with me; he is my helper.  I look in triumph on my enemies.”

Psalm 118:5-7

“If God is for us who can be against us?”

Romans 8:31

Not Ashamed #poetry #freedom #veterans

posterized sail

Sails billow as they unfurl

we prepare to release our mooring

waiting expectantly for the wind

to greet our faces

as we set sail

and why should we be ashamed?

Quickly and purposely

we unchock the wheels

remove the air intake blocks

pull the flags covering the pitot

engines start to cycle

and why should I be ashamed?

Her sails grab at the wind

the props cause everything loose to ruffle

We greet the day

knowing that those we love

are setting the dandelions free

our children should not be ashamed!!!

boys

I like most of the men and women who choose to serve their country (in the armed forces) do it so that children can run free in the dandelion fields rather than be used as a weapons.

frozen leaf

Chilled by the hawk’s distant cry

unwelcome wings on the horizon

life threatening wind approaches

I need no eagle eye

Frozen by the headlines

man sharpens cold steel

children trying their hand

paralyzed beyond my spine

Motionless I await

this storm front from Hell

sensible is lost in radical thought

people plead at heaven’s gate

Child beheads a Syrian captive.  Is this what our world wants 8-year-old children to do in their spare time????

Boys in all countries (including the US ) are indoctrinated as young as 8 to be gang members (which would include rape, drug dealing, killing). A patient of mine was 5 when he joined his gang.

The Path I Follow #devotion #Paris #poetry

copy-footprints.jpg

Along the pathway that was tread yesterday

there are few indications

that you were here

all that is left is a reminder

and that too will fade

pose the question:

“Does the path I take matter?

Is it more important

that I blazed a trail for another

or that the trail is scarred by my passing?”

If the meek shall inherit the earth, what then will those who terrorize innocent people inherit?

I shudder to think.

I traced the path of a bunny this morning. His concern was for food to sustain him this day. His path in the snow made me smile. Use your life to bring others joy. Man is a beast who evokes fear for his own pleasure or to make a statement. Perhaps he would be better to write an article of angst than to kill and maim.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5 &6 (Verse Concepts)

“Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.”

Proverbs 4:26-27

Pick up a piece #911 #terrorism #tribute #memories

I stand with a lapel pin in my hand

it had stood proudly on a life swept away

A bar of medals lay on the ground

how many heroic deeds did you do?

“mama mama mama”

I heard the echo of a grease covered doll

“I missed my flight “

I heard through misty eyes

“Our copier broke down  so I went to another cell”

“We should have been there with the dead” they chorused hand in hand

“What can we do for those who died in our place?”

the survivor’s guilt gnaws raw as each 911 looms

pick up a piece of 911 people

rally around the cause of freedom

look forward

do not let this happen to innocence again
