Don’t worry I won’t tell
about the way you stole my heart
over romance I tripped and fell
don’t worry I wont tell
over sugary notes I tripped and fell
bloodied by your pointed darts
don’t worry I wont tell
about the day you ripped my heart
I love it when I stumble over a drafted poem. This one penned in 2014 for Valentine’s Day
shadowed sculptured lines
fingers smooth imperfections
artist’s smile
haunted by a memory
of an elevator ride
my heart torn in pieces
carved with a sharp knife
if only I could grasp
some meaning in your eyes
I wouldn’t have to work
at reading between the lines
here I am in motion
imagining your kiss
the thorns from a rose
pierced me on the lift
the floor is done rising
eyes lower to the door
open hands left holding
what was broken long before
Gentle mist upon my forehead
covers me with diamond dew
fragrant kisses call me softly
velvet points our pas de deux
Let us dance upon the four winds
impassioned lovers take our cue
when night’s curtain is a falling
dearest, hold me near to you

I had to pull an archived romantic poem for lovers today!
What if he should read
the words I wrote 100 years from now
of knights and dragons
and hidden away princesses
would he think it mere fantasy?
*
I write faithfully with my pen
of dark misty hollows
places to be lost
corners to be found
hoping dreams never to end
*
can ideas inscribed in ink
compare to blue moon lit dances
long hair billowing
in salty air’s breeze
as spicy music romances
*
soft lacy valentine bouquet
encircles my heart
a smile is your only answer
to “be mine”
the place where fantasy starts
~AGAIN…
The Daily Post writing challenge is valentine. What inspires you when you think of Valentines?
Other delightful Valentine reflections:
I shake last night from my head memories linger bright like the sun a warm brush with moon light Her glowing tendrils of hair reflect gold lips speak whispers into my ear my heart with her is never cold She leaves an imprint behind * There's a knowing "she will return" to hold me in her arms beam love through me I think about her beauty from the inside out her words I hold in my hands they are clearly Written in silvery moon dust
She is in his dreams dancing lightly across his sighs
closer than a whisper warming his heart
waking his need to dance with love
they dance to the soft sounds of night
spinning with the stars above and the lights in her eyes
***
Desire awakening with each kiss
perfection in each fluid move
finding endless hope in cosmic display
lover’s plight to only meet at night
days spent dreaming of the lover missed
***
Their rival daylight
in darkness ecstasy takes flight
tantalizing essence mesmerizes and captivates
lovers intertwined in a feast of senses
exploring the infinite horizons of joy so right
***
They revel in a world never fraught with pain
seize one last lingering kiss before dawn
walking in a daze until they dream another night away
eyes close reminding him of
stormy currents turbulent plains

Like a girl I pull a petal
eagerly waiting the answer
“He loves me
He loves me not
He…”
I pulled the petals
from the flower of love
What did they say?
He loves me…
My eyes through their window you could see
Lips that sang under yours
Calderon of desire
He loves me not…
A trick of the petals I see
but they will not get the better of me
He…
Who was given the petal?
I would like to know!
It cannot last
Why does one petal make the difference?
Passion in the night
Empty embrace is in the dawn – indifference
He loves me…
He
loves
me
NOT
Fair thee well petal
I shall find new discovery in
the fragrant petal of
He
Loves
Me

Learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ.
Looking ahead, without looking back (too often)
Thanks for following a cowgirl on her crazy life journey.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. - Edgar Allan Poe
