clothed in shimmering white
She dances and sways
to a starry ritornelle
a gaze over her shoulder
catches her reflection
beams at radiant beauty
delight as she changes with the tide
enshrouded in the cover of darkness
surrounded by empty silence
cold shivers fill the night
No audience to marvel “how lovely”
sheet music ruffles on vacant stands
alone in the loneliest of places
Moondustwriter celebrates 10 years of blogging on Word Press. This is an archived poem from the first month (with some minor changes). Poetry is cathartic and I hope anyone who needs to blow off steam finds the outlet in writing.
As this posts, I will be in Africa doing what I love – teaching the children I write for. 10 years ago this was only a dream now this is an amazing reality.
Thank you Word Press for giving artists, writers, poets a place for venting, a place to fly…
To those of you who have encouraged me to not give up (you know who you are) I’m sending a bouquet of Thank Yous!!!
one blue cup each
flows easily through her hands
dry river beds
laughter’s pure reflection
sing song they learn A B Cs
so young to be old
internal Acholi’s strength
Nile clouds my vision
If I share a handful of their giggles, would you share a handful of precious water?
This week’s Word Press photo challenge is Reflections
and Reflections at Weekly Tanka Prompt
four different seasons
warm breezes repel the cold
each draw earth’s color
This week’s photo challenge is Earth. There’s so much beauty (on our planet) where are your favorite places?
The Word Press DP Photo Challenge is Weight (less) – “Show us the effects of gravity.”. Whether it is a physical pull or an emotional drain, gravity is always heavy.
places that we seek
expand our minds and universe
trip over happy
The daily post photo prompt is Happy Place. Where do you go to find yourself? I go to the ocean!
roaming with my home
life’s at a snail’s pace

This week’s weekly photo challenge: Inside
Looking inside the work of these photographers brings a smile:
And where might it bee?
Alice asked of the rabbit
it can be as close as your fingertips
or as far a field
just look through this pink tube
Can you guess what the daily post weekly photo challenge is???
And please enjoy some of these unusual and delightful works by other photographers:
Take this stone
create a beginning
touches more points
as it moves
a sunken piece of mass
As you move forward what is it in the past that propelled you? Fear, a challenge, a friend, an enemy, money, debt…?
Was your move forward physical, spiritual?
Alone I never feared change or forward motion. For me “Forward” is a march toward adventure. As a mother, that move forward presents a different challenge. The ripple of the circle in the water reminds me of the move forward. It’s a challenge when it involves others (those we love). There are edges of the circle (consequences) I cannot see or foresee. The best I can do is hope (and pray) that those I love will weather the forward moving ripples in their paper boat of life.
HOW do the ripples inspire you???
WordPress’ Weekly Photo Challenge: In a new post specifically created for this challenge, share a picture that says FORWARD to you.
Perhaps it’s a path you yourself have taken, the building where you’re starting a great new job, or the curve of your partner’s pregnant belly. It could be an image that shows a physical move, or something that evokes a major life change. We look forward (ha!) to your interpretations.
