Beneath the first curtained light
I raise my heart in supplication
lift me up Oh Lord
off my trembling knees
life’s burdens can keep me down
and I no longer have the fight

I raise my eyes to meet the sun
does shadow dance on next hillside
I am beckoned not to blink
nature’s wonder comes alive
sleepy eyes awake they might

notes flutter on the sightless breeze
butterfly colors in a ring
reminded of this world I am free
