… and with them
last vestige of hope
swept away in the current
a stormy existence
That life boat
in the haze
called to me
… and so
caught in the current
below the waves
the end will come soon
for what is there
to give me breath
thank you for …
a momentary ray
on that little boat
…and you must
… and you!!!
Each Friday is awesome – many writers and bloggers get together and write a story in a mere 55 words. This piece is a little more prose and symbolic in nature. Thank you to G-Man for hosting weekly!
Thanks Mike for this awesome shot off Morro Bay…http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikebaird/3016985275/

55 Flash Fiction Friday: You Do Know
What a beautiful post.
The Pic…The 55….The feel.
This one was as good as it gets.
Thank You for this Masterpiece.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week…….G
Very nice! “…and you must stay afloat for others need hope” really touched my heart.
What an amazing 55! Very profound to be grateful at such a time. Mine is here. http://razzamadazzle.wordpress.com/2011/06/09/a-rootin-tootin-55/
it is good to gratefful for those rays of hope, however fleeting they are…and to wish them on others…
Sad but still buoyant, you got to keep swimming, sometimes, till someone finally picks you up or you hit land. A life raft 55. have a safe and fun trip, mdw.
I both love and hate the sea, I can understand every emotion you shared. Lovely.
That takes us there and allows us to feel the gratitude.
I get seasick so just looking at that photo is doing me in, Leslie 🙂 But I loved your 55. What a way that would be to go!
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Throw ’em a lifebelt, quick! lol
Or do I mean lifebuoy?…
Lifeboats are essential and bring hope to many.
This captures the essence of the picture perfectly.
May your boat not only stay afloat but be filled with all your heart’s desires, and sail your dreams as far as they can reach.
wow, i certainly feel tossed about these days. this captures the feeling well. thanks for the exhortation in the end.
quite a hope filled and inspiring words !!
Great 55! You sent my emotions riding the waves on this one!
That’s right, people. Don’t drown in your sorrows, no matter how you try to do it, because the sun will rise again. Nice one, moon lady. 🙂
incredible!!! i feel stuck beneath those waves at the moment….
Never leave someone behind
In the waves of life
In burning buildings
Hope carries us to heart’s home
