Orphan’s voices lift to the stars

can’t keep feet from moving

notes merge harmonious

large is the circle of our song

mimicking children’s motions

I don’t want the song to end

laughter young and old

fills the skies

tired we sit on mats

our hearts still singing

as we do crafts

 Jesus is smiling

 I know that these children at Mercy Home have come from hard and lonely places. We are greeted each day with smiles of  love and welcome and we end the day Dancing!

Grace in Haiku

“It’s my pleasure to bring a new episode of Haiku Shuukan. Several weeks ago, we started with Joan Halifax’s G.R.A.C.E and this week it’s about the “A” in G.R.A.C.E. The “A” stands for Attaining to Self Other. ”

What to do with this idea in a haiku? I don’t really know, but I have to give it a try:

magnolia bloom

Two lips meet beneath spring

dancing in moon’s light

 love is serenading

each day appears more bright

years pass, colors fade

hands once always clasped

 feelings stored

in moth eaten past

Under pink blossoms

 veiled in a mist

am I your joy

or prefer love desist

I can no more see

what you meant to say

in eyes that once told me

more than two lips conveyed

red tulips
