Reflect on Beauty #poetry #photography #covid19

We walk along

a faithful line

our search for food

distance and time

a family stroll

dawn approach

held together

eggs and burnt toast

As we spend much time inside there is something we have that has been missing in life – Time.

We need each other during Co-Vid 19 and we need to be reminded how precious family is.  Watch nature, read a book, burn toast…

Be well!!!

Today’s Tan Renga challenge #108 at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai is to echo Jane Reighhold’s beautiful haiku.

Crack in the Door #poetry #pain

fear_of_the_dark

darkness is cruel

eyes neither open nor close

no feeling in void

*

inanimate pain

screams stifled behind closed doors

you inflicted this

*

slap awakens

firefly moment so bright

pin holes of hope

*

eye’s revelation

light cauterizes split heart

awaits gold of day

dawn waves

Sharing with Poet’s United Midweek Motif – the prompt is Inanimate.

I Dream in Color #poetry #photography

You have to admit

it never grows old

daily beauty I see

tho admittedly cold

tiny hands that are joined

each and every tide

drawing lines in the sand

lovely never subsides

and the children what glee

spontaneous in their fun

every time its a romp

catching ankles in the sun

every day is the best

and I promise that I dream

for a window to a new day

sun dawns on color streams

conch in hand

Have a listen

revelations of the sea

paint a picture

The Prompt today At Poets United Midweek Motif is Color. There are so many ways to go when writing about color – each a palette of beauty. And yes I am waxing a bit Dr. Seuss (wink)

Dawn and the Sea #poetry

tidal foam

my eyes long to caress you smooth as silk

your bronze glow accentuated by dawn

my fingers can only momentary trace a message

watery “I love yous” fade away

as the sea draws lacy covers back

remnant of a long night blurrs

gold red rays warm your skin

long legged birds celebrate your awakening

I a mere voyeur watch…

the morning rises from slumber

 meeting the sea’s welcome embrace

I inhale the beauty of a new day

sandpiper dawn

This week’s prompt at Poet’s United Midweek Motif is Beauty. Where in the world do you see beauty?

All the Colors #photography

dawns colors

Have you ever looked upon day

just before the curtains are drawn

there is in magnificent display

spectrum’s delight as we gaze upon dawn
