I do miss You #poetry #blogging #expression treasure

Beauty floats on top

Life bubbles beneath the surface

a sense of surprise

Im not even getting many opportunities to write haiku at the moment. I still have friends in this blogging life that I am grateful for and I miss.

I hope YOU are doing well and that your creativity flows whether here or elsewhere.

I am always aloft on the moon or elsewhere.

I’m always grateful for YOU because each of you encouraged me to keep looking for shells…

Hidden treasure

shoreline of dispersed memory

I found you

Creativity Heals #art #depression

I just read a blog by a blogger who was really pressing down on herself for feeling that things are so bad. They are and they are not. It’s a matter of perspective.

BUT…

Something that helps so much is expression.

Blogging, art, writing are all forms of media that help us keep from that tipping point.

When I was very active on Social Media (sorry guys I am all over the world at the mo and so blogging is really a back door thing) I was meeting people coming out of Alcoholism, attempts at suicide, a divorce that drove the person batty…

there is that place to go to splash paint and get it off the head and heart.

And there is always prayer…

Reverse Thunder

I hear thunder in the distance

rolling onward like the waves

gaining power it surges  forward

and like a child I am afraid

flash and pounding ever stronger

seconds now and it will hit

dark the clouds and growing closer

blowing fragile tree to bits

it has stopped and hovers o’er me

a distinct voice of one I love

in the whispers it is calming

begging help from God above

*

Reverse Thunder

whispered prayers become a shout

God listens

10 Years on WordPress #blogging #Thankyou

Its a wild ride

this blogging thing

with just a pen

hopefully a brain

we hope and pray

for some success

with all these words

it’s just a mess

I wish you well

as you begin

tales and fantasies

for children spin

Moondustwriter celebrates 10 years of  blogging on Word Press. This poem celebrates the years and the people I have met in the Blogsphere.

As this posts, I will be in Africa doing what I love – teaching the children I write for. 10 years ago this was only a dream now this is an amazing reality.

Thank you Word Press for giving artists, writers, poets a place for venting, a place to fly…

To those of you who have encouraged me to not give up (you know who you are) I’m sending a bouquet of Thank Yous!!!

Looking #poetry #lostlove #rejection

I seek the approval of…

a lover

a friend

an intellect

a poet

an artist

 Hopelessly flawed

no one to

gaze

into my eyes

at the stars

share…

life

dreams

todays

tomorrows

Come write a …

symphony

a treatise

a legacy

a love song

Can anyone find me???

he loved her so

lost in the  night

Moondustwriter celebrates 10 years of  blogging on Word Press. This is an archived poem from the first month (with some changes). Poetry is cathartic and I hope anyone who needs to blow off steam finds the outlet in writing.

Acholi #Uganda #atozchallenge #poetry

Kind-hearted people

displaced by war

twenty five years of waiting

 return to ancestral land

centuries of farming

the earth welcomes

dance steps echo

stars harmonize

our adopted family

Acholi – filled with Grace

Today is the beginning of the A to Z Challenge. It is no challenge to share the beauty of Uganda in particular the Acholi people (Northern Uganda). I dedicate this month of  poetry to my dear “family” in Gulu!

Everyone is welcome to join the month long A to Z blogging challenge. It’s a great way to meet fellow bloggers.

Thank you A to Z team for hosting another year!!!

Sky Tears #atozchallenge “T”

bucket of tears

Sky tears fall like buckets

observing from a glass tower

lightening tests the glass

while thunder reverberates

trembling people look for assurance

there is none as the walls tumble

observation tower

What do you when it’s raining buckets?

dusty memory

I went to a blogger’s site this week and she was gone. There was a sadness I felt because I enjoyed her work. So often we cross paths with people and we never get the chance to say “goodbye.”

To each of you in the blog world: Your words touch me and others – for that I am grateful!!!

Here are some A to Z folks with words to enjoy this day:

Suffocated #poetry

you placed a plastic bag over my mouth

“breathe deep, you will feel much better”

I trusted each of you in my darkest hour

“don’t breathe,” I heard the warning too late

I was sucked dry

my creativity stolen

you walk on broken shells of what was never yours

This poem is for all the people who have been hacked, had their ideas, art or writing stolen. Your work is white washed with a fresh name placed on top. You lose less than the thief.
