meigetsu ya ittemo ittemo yoso no sora
autumn’s bright moon,
however far I walked, still afar off
in an unknown sky

silent embrace
dawn’s mountain top caress
warmth rises
Today’s prompt from Chevrefeuille’s Carpe Diem is “The Unknown Sky.”
The photograph was taken of the Sierra Madre foothills when all was still and cool.
The photo has a sensual feel that I always feel compelled to write about *wink*
What lies in the unknown sky for you?

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing and publishing in multiple genres (including education) in E. African for E. Africa. As a writer, it is a thrill to write for children (on all continents) who want to learn.
I've been part of the blogging community for more than 13 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community.
I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers.
There are many facets to this moon - my joy is in meeting you!

When I was in Hayward County (Union City) a few weeks back – I saw a few mornings like that from the hotel window.
The mountains looked so close, first there were the neighborhoods, then the industrial park maybe a farm or two. But we did take a little walk up a few ‘baby’ hills that were in the public park towards the east of my mountainous view.
Cheers, Jules

My family used to own a ranch back in those hills. I don’t even know if Union City was much more than a main street back then. Glad you enjoyed

I’m hoping for some rain for those folks and you to and anyone really in need. Not a drop in the three weeks we were out there.

There are places in California that look so desert like. The ag area is decimated. We need new ways to move water (where it is in abundance)

We had to go to AZ last year and stopped in at a park where the cactus where hundreds if not thousands of years old.

Your poem is so unique and meaningful, I didn’t want to take it apart and write what it means I’d like it to stay the way it is.

When one is lost and obstacles along the way, there can still be someone to offer help but be wary of hidden danger. How true Moonie!
